Information Needed: Walter J. Jones

Dear Sir or Madam:

I am the Assistant Curator of History with the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum in Canyon, and I hope you can help me to locate an Amarillo resident. I am trying to research a former Amarillo bootmaker and leather craftsman, Walter J. Jones.

Mr. Jones died in 1987, and his widow, Cora Belle Jones, died in 1990. I understand from Mr. Jones’ step-son, Frank “Ace” Wallace, that a niece of Cora’s was her heir.

Mrs. Jones’ obituary mentioned a niece by the name of Lucy May Fullylove of Amarillo. Mrs. Fullylove died in 2001, but her obituary mentioned a daughter, Gayle White, of Amarillo. It also stated that Mrs. Fullylove had been a member of the Ebenezer Church.

I cannot find a working phone number for that church. Can you help me to locate Gayle White? I would like to see if she might have any material related to Walter J. Jones that she would be willing to share with the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum.

Thank you very much for your time and assistance.

Sincerely,
Susan G. Denney
