ATCC (AW/SW) Johnathan Ross

Johnathan graduated from Palo Duro High School on May 21, 1972. Upon graduation, he received an appointment to the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland on June, 1, 1972. He was discharged from there in June of 1973. He then joined the United States Navy on March 16, 1974. His military service included the following:

1. ZF74 Naval Air Station in Oceana, VA from August 1975 to 1979.
2. Memphis, TN from October 1979 to August 1980.
3. Recruiter in Dallas, TX from October 1979 to May, 1981.
4. VF-171 at Naval Air Station in Oceana, VA from June 1981 to October 1982
5. VAQ-33 at Naval Station Key West, FL from October 1982 to October 1984
6. USS Nimitz CVN-68 from October 1984 to February 1986
7. Instructor Duty in Memphis, TN from February 1986 to September 1989
8. USS Saratoga from October 1989 to February 1992 which included service in the Persian Gulf War-Operation Desert Storm from October 1990 to 1991
9. Instructor AAIWSM from September 1992 to September 199510. Naval Air Station, Norfolk, VA from October 1995 to April 1998 VAS-125
11. Retired as a Senior Chief in April of 1998. Johnathan is the proud father of Navy Chief Bethany Ross-Cid who will be profiled later.
