Let’s Get Spiritual / What is really Megan Moores Problem?

by Fransetta Crow

I had planned to talk on being Politically Incorrect and to a degree this issue that I am addressing could easily fall under this category but I believe that this one goes a little beyond it. The Bible talks about a time when people would call right wrong and wrong right! Well we are living in that time now . I want to speak in response to a blog that was submitted by an employee of Channel 10 News in Amarillo, who is an executive anchor and news reporter. If you have not read Megan Moore’s blog- ” Today I became a “RACIST”  submitted on 9-21-10 Ms. Mooer tried to sneak her smoldering racial hate under a new catagory, but racial hate is the same I don’t care how you try to name it. My first reaction to the blog was to tell her how ignorant she is and uninformed, but she vented out so much anger and hate that I had to pray about the poison she had stated about a community of African Americans  living in North Amarillo Tx. and have judged to be less than human and fit to be alive. She has taken it upon herself to speak about what it’s like to Black in Amarillo, and told the whole world that she is a “RACIST” and should not be allowed to work in a field that is responsible to report the news fair and balanced.  Ms. Moore is a disgrace to the news media and should not be permitted to work in such a position.

Now let’s address this issue from a spiritual standpoint!

The Bible speaks about The HEART and that out of the abundance of the HEART the mouth speaks.Basically what this means is that whatever is in your heart is what you speak fourth. Matthew 12:33-37 adresses that matter and I would like to share a couple verses with you.

Matthew 12 :33-37-(NKJV)  33: Either make the tree good amd his fruit good, or else make the tree corrupt and his fruit corrupt for the tree is known by it’s fruit. 34: O generation of vipers, how can ye being evil speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speakth.35: A good man, out of the good treasure of the heart, bringeth fourth good things: and an evil man out of evil treasures bringeth forth evil things.

36: But I say unto you, That every idle word that man shall speak, they shall giv account for thereof in the day of judgement. 37: For by thy words thou shalt be justified , and by thy words thou shall be condemed.  This is what Jesus spoke or should I say it’s in the red. I pity Ms. Moore  and I will pray that God will change her HEART AND ATTITUDE.

I would like to invite Ms. Moore to come and visit with me and go talk to some of the people that she has so blatantly spoke about and hear what the Black experience is all about living in Amarillo TX. any time at her convience.

IT ‘s A HEART  CONDITION !

“Ms. Moore is a disgrace to the news media and should not be permitted to work in such a position.”

Ms. Crow, I would say rather, you are a disgrace to Amarillo’s black community. Ms. Moore’s personal comments had NOTHING to do to race. Once again, though, you and the other small minded people posting in this web site have taken comments that have nothing to do with race, and turned it into a racial issue. It’s that ubiquitous small mindedness that allows the issues Ms. Moore brought up to continue.
I’ll pray for you, Ms. Crow, that the Lord will open your mind, so in the future instead of attacking those simply sharing their personal, open and honest opinion, you’ll bring the message of Christ to so many people in your neighborhood who desperately need to know him.

    Matthew 7:5
You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.

You are nothing but a hypocrite. The Lord our God is our only judge, so in my personal opinion you can take this blog AND SHOVE IT UP YOUR ASS

Very professionally done! If only the rest of the world could see the way you see. I as a white, middle aged woman, fully agree with you. How sad. I grew up in the south where when I was in grade school they finally integrated the schools together. I made some lifelong friends because they integrated. How sad for us all that there are still haters out there, but your scriptures say it better than I. God made us all, we are all loved equally by Him. We are brothers and sisters.
    God bless you!

Sounds like judgemental condescension to me. I thought the diagnosing of people who didn’t agree with another went out with subscribing heroin for dementia. “I don’t like what you have to say, so there must be something wrong with you.” When I read the blog, (a personal blog mind you. Not an article.) I didn’t know the ethnicity of anyone in the neighborhood until I read them here on BlackAmarillo.com. I was born and raised in Amarillo and I never had any buisiness in the Heights, so I was ignorant to the demographics of the area. Until I read the comments on the blog that is. The fact that the actual news was objective and held journalistic integrity, is evidence of a measure of professionalism. Her own ‘personal’ opinion was only expressed in her ‘personal’ blog. Instead of stringing up the messenger, try to digest the message and deal with the real problem. Someone was shot! Why not focus on that?

    Well SAID!

I hope that the community will rally behind this issue, and see that she is taken off the air!

  6. avatar Vivian says:

To be fair, Ms. Moore NEVER said anything about the black community. She was talking about drug addicts, etc. Sure, her report involved one neighborhood on the North side, but she never mentioned race. If you say you are people of God, you should forgive, educate and move on.

Frankly Fran I could not have said it better myself but I will say where two agree as touching… As I said to Ms Cravin I say to you, THANK YOU, well said and well written!!! Now I know we need to let go and let God…
