The vision of Pastor Mel Carr and first lady Edith Carr was realized yesterday at Bones Hooks Park. It was their vision that pulled together several churches form across the city for Praise and Worship Service at Bones Hooks Park.
The gathering of approximately 200 endured the rain delayed start of the festivities by fellowshipping under the large tent provided by Amarillo Tent and Awning.
The center piece of the park “The Jewel Allen Stage” was the focal point of Saturday’s activities, resonating with music and voices giving praise and glory to God and inspirational messages.
One key speaker Missionary Jared Odhimbo was introduced by Milton Jones of Amarillo South Church. Mr. Odhimbo’s mission cares for over 500 African abandon and orphaned children with HIV and AIDS.
Other activities included voter registration, school supply giveaway and free food and drinks.
