Now as Barack Obama completes his historic campaign for the Presidency, it draws to my mind the late Robert F. Kennedy who also voiced a need for change in America along with racial equality and top into the imagination of young people who, at the time divided due to Vietnam and government imbalance. Robert Kennedy also stated in 1968 that it is very well possible for a Negro to be President of the United States within the next forty years. Now forty years later Barack Obama is one step closer to fulfilling that statement. Two months before Robert F. Kennedy’s assassination, the late Dr. Martin Luther King, who also was assassinated April 4 1968? Even more prophetically in the same forty years we celebrate Israel’s 60 years of statehood. Many may not discern “the times” however it is a time for the enlistment of new foot men who will stand in the gap of this generation to employ them to return to divine order. The age that is passed, to an extent, is attempting to put new wine in old wine skins, which has burst at the seams morally, economically and even religiously. As much as we would like to celebrated history in the 2008 election, some time ice cream and cake are not always digested well, especially when we have a digestion problem in the beginning. The abiding powers in the United States are evasive and color blind if we say race has not been an issue in this election. Denial, I feel was an excuse used to give less credit and power to Barack Obama who happens to be man of color (Negro). Obama, a young man, who I feel, God has used to give all people courage to cross the lines, for the betterment of our Nation and for the future of young people in America.
While civil rights groups have served their time, many have lost their ability and methods to reach this new mind set of a changing generation. I personally feel Barack Obama is gifted for this season of needed change. I feel in the history of this country, that the young men with revolutionized minds and human rights agenda for all people were soon cut off. God has a placed heritage in people of all color. It is my impartation to encourage our Nation not to grow weary and catch the vision for new order and new foot men, a government that will take us back to true democracy, by the people and for the people.
“If thou hast run with the foot men, and the have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horse? And if in the land of peace, wherein thou trustedst, they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan? (Jeremiah 12:5)
